Faris Badwan, frontman of English shoegaze rockers The Horrors, has been accused of punching a fan in the face at one of his own gigs in Liverpool a couple of days ago (January 17th).
According to rumours, the band had played through the show, with Fadwan keeping an eye on a boy known as Jake Nolan, who was allegedly causing trouble at the front of the crowd. Towards the end of the show, Fadwan apparently punched Nolan in the face, causing a group of six Horror fans to start a fight with the young fan, before being removed from the venue.
Eyewitness Pete Guy told NME: “The Horrors were playing 'Three Decades' and out of nowhere, Faris punched the lad in the side of the face and that sparked at least six other lads in the crowd into kicking off at Jake. He got booted in the face and there was a scuffle for a couple of minutes before a bouncer pulled him out of the crowd and he was taken out the venue.”
A spokesperson from the band has given a different account of events though, saying: “There was a guy in the crowd causing trouble throughout the gig so Faris gave him a clip round the ear at the end, but that's all, there wasn't a fight.”
