Courtney Love Wins Legal Battle Against Landlady

American rocker Courtney Love has been cleared of charges brought against by her landlady Donna Lyons, who accused her of missing rent payments and owing her $50,000.

Lyons accused Love of trashing her apartment, redecorating without permission and failing to pay for two months rent – which equals to about $54,000. Love furiously denied the claims, and has now won the legal battle that Lyons started in an attempt to get some of her ‘lost money’ back.

Lyon previously said: “I came to New York to see it [the property] and I was horrified by what she had done. The walls that had been hand-painted and glazed were ruined, covered in damask wallpaper and ice-blue paint.”

But Love replied: “I haven't fallen behind on the rent - I have been paying month to month as agreed. My rent is current, but the owner is now asking for the remaining two months upfront. Even though it's not required, I'd happily pay that and another six months' rent upfront if she would extend the lease for six months. I have repainted, but I asked permission, and used a painter approved by the owner.”
