Cypress Hill Record Dubstep EP With Rusko

Hip-hop heroes Cypress Hill have unveiled a 30-second teaser of their latest project – a dubstep/hip-hop crossover they’ve done with dubstep producer Rusko.

Following on from 2010’s ‘Rise Up’, Cypress Hill have followed in the footsteps of Korn and now The Doors and have incorporated the ever-growing electronic dance genre of dubstep in with their signature sound. While some of the younger fans may enjoy the update in sound, though, hardcore Hill fans may not be as impressed.

The five-track E.P, titled ‘Cypress x Rusko’, will most likely hit shelves before summer, but no release date has been set yet. Speaking of the new record, rapper B-Real said: “This is one of those styles that we felt doing with Rusko would be a great match. We’ve always been the type of group to take chances on doing something radically different than what people expect from us.

“So this carries with the tradition of us going out of the box. If it’s not something that we embrace then we don’t dare mess with it and this is something we fell right into the pocket of.”

Meanwhile, Rusko has his own new record ‘Songs’ coming out in March later this year, the follow-up to 2010’s ‘O.M.G!’. You can catch him at Sheffield University on March 20th.
