Sir Paul McCartney has confessed that there is still a massive part of him which is amazed that he was in iconic rockers The Beatles – and that he still can’t believe that he was part of such a successful group.
Speaking to the Metro prior to the release of his new album today, McCartney revealed that there was totally still an novelty around his part in the band, and that he was taken back after seeing a picture of himself with his ex-bandmates in a book that George Harrison recently released.
“I'm lucky that I've always retained a sense of wonder,” he told the Metro. “I was looking at the George Harrison book accompanying Martin Scorsese's ‘Living in the Material World’ recently and opened it at a picture George had taken of me and the other guys on an aeroplane.
“It took me right back. I was like, 'Was I really there, in The Beatles? Bloody hell!' It's obviously a stupid thought but I'm glad I haven't got used to it yet.”
McCartney’s latest solo album ‘Kisses on the Bottom’ hits shelves today, his fifth studio album.
