Scottish singing superstar Susan Boyle apparently has another unlikely singer in her family – as her brother Gerry is set to release his debut album.
The 57 year-old is an ex-manager of Susan’s but is now set to start a new vocal venture, after debuting a single on a New Zealand radio station for a joke and getting a decent reception. While he claims to not be feeding off his sister Susan’s success, he hopes to achieve similar fame – and will drop his first album later in the year.
“It’s for the public to decide who is the better singer out of me and Susan but it’s definitely not a competition,” Gerry told The Daily Record. “You can’t just jump on stage and start singing just because your sister has become famous.
“Susan is 100 per cent behind me. She’s been shoving me to do this for years and I kept telling her, ‘All in good time’. I haven’t sung with Susan for a very long time but now America is calling out for that, you never know.
“New Zealand and American women who follow Susan think it’s amazing and think Susan and I should do a song together.”
Meanwhile, a Newcastle-based theatre is running a two-day showing of Susan Boyle musical ‘I Dreamed a Dream’. If you’re a fan, it’s not to be missed – so check the dates and details below and grab yourself a ticket.
