Susan Boyle is a Scottish singer and actress hailing from Blackburn. Born in 1961, she is without doubt the unlikely breakthrough superstar of the millennium, who now boasts a hugely successful career that kicked off just five years ago.
The story of her rise to fame is one of the most inspiring success stories of all time. After signing up to appear on ITV’s reality contest show Britain’s Got Talent in 2009, she walked on stage in front of Simon Cowell and co (as well as a taunting and presumptuous crowd) who, after seeing her age and appearance, were certainly not expecting the world class performance that Boyle gave.
A few years later, and the video of her audition has been viewed over 100million times, and Boyle is now sitting on a fortune of over £22million - her first three albums ‘I Dreamed a Dream’, ‘The Gift’, and ‘Someone to Watch Over Me’ all hit #1 in the UK Albums chart. But it wasn't her studio work that got her where she is, but an incredible voice that is an experience to see on any stage - a true performer.
But, though she is a true performer (cutting her teeth in tiny pubs and venues occasionally in Scotland), she has only just stepped on her first bust, travelling through the UK in summer 2013. She jets to Dubai in December and then back to the UK in March 2014 - if you want to catch Boyle doing what she does best, check the dates and links below!
