Britpop icons Blur, winners of the Outstanding Contribution Award at the Brit Awards 2012, are to headline the Closing Ceremony Celebration Concert in Hyde Park on 12th August, a special concert celebrating the climax of the city’s celebrations for the London Olympic Games. Joining Blur for this ‘Best Of British’ line-up will be The Specials and New Order with a Special Guest to be announced soon. Blur Tickets are ONSALE 9AM TODAY, Friday 24th February.

This massive new concert will see Blur - Damon Albarn, Alex James, Graham Coxon and Dave Rowntree – performing at London's Hyde Park one again for what will be their single major live performance of 2012. The shows follows their legendary sold-out dates in the capital during Summer 2009.
The concert will coincide with one of the key moments of the London 2012 Olympic Games, Sunday 12th August, the date of the Closing Ceremony. Not only will the thousands of ticket-holders for this unique event see one of the UK’s biggest bands exclusively live on stage, but they will also be able to witness the London 2012 celebrations as giant screens in Hyde Park show highlights of the Closing Ceremony from the Olympic Park.
