Jay-Z Facing Legal Action Over 2000's Big Pimpin'

Rap superstar Jay-Z could be in for a spot of trouble – because an Egyptian composer is threatening to sue over his 2000 track ‘Big Pimpin’’.

Allegedly, ‘Big Pimpin’’ ‘multilated’ Egyptian composer Baligh Hamady’s track ‘Khosara, Khosara’ when it came out at the start of the millennium – something which has greatly angered his nephew, who is trying to take Jay-Z to court.

What’s interesting is, Jay-Z actually acquired a license to sample or use the original track, and many other Egyptian musicians have already failed at taking the license for ‘Khosara Khosara’ track to court – but Hamady’s nephew reckons that a loophole in his country’s law will assist him in court, when he tries to earn a cut from the hip-hop star’s vast fortune.

The nephew believes that he and his family have not been properly compensated and paid for the use of the sample, and is hoping that he’ll be able to get a portion of Jay-Z’s wages from back to 2000 as well as some of the cash he’s generated from live shows, where he may have performed the track.
