Liam Gallagher Tops 'Greatest Frontman Of All Time' Poll

Ex-Oasis star Liam Gallagher has topped an XFM poll to find out fans’ favourite frontman of all time, beating the likes of Queen’s Freddie Mercury and Depeche Mode’s Dave Gahan.

Gallagher, who now fronts new band Beady Eye alongside some of his old Oasis bandmates, was happy with the win – but in his usual, un-modest style, he claimed that he ‘knew that anyway’. The Mancunian beat a number of rock legends in the poll, including the Foo Fighters’ Dave Grohl, Muse’s Matt Bellamy and Nirvana icon Kurt Cobain. The full poll results can be seen below.

Responding to the win, Gallaher said: “Greatest frontman? I knew that anyway! There's not many of us about. There are a lot of pretenders out there. But I'd like to thank everybody for voting and stuff. Nice one. It's always been about the vocal for me, man. If you're a good looking fucker like me, you've got to be down the front, haven't you?”

Despite winning the vote just a couple of days ago, it’s unlikely that his time in Beady Eye helped secure the poll, and was probably recognised for his time with mega-famous rockers Oasis, something which Liam is probably aware of – he was recently quoted as saying: “Even though I love Beady Eye, I'd prefer to still be in Oasis, because that was my thing. Oasis was my life.”
