Metallica are set to become the first metal band to play the Sphere in Las Vegas.
After months of speculation, the legendary thrash pioneers have confirmed that they'll debut their Life Burns Faster residency at the state-of-the-art venue with eight shows taking place on October 1 and 3, 15 and 17, 22 and 24, and 29 and 31.
The run will continue the No Repeat Weekend format launched during the band's 2023 M72 World Tour, featuring different setlists and no songs repeated across each Thursday and Saturday show, with all performances enhanced by the venue's immersive technologies. Metallica co-founder and drummer Lars Ulrich said:
"About 12 seconds into the opening night of Sphere with U2 back in ‘23, I thought ‘We have to do this, it’s completely uncharted territory!’ This residency gives us another chance to reinvent how we interact with our fans in a live setting. We are beyond excited to share this with the world in six months time, and way fuckin’ psyched to go next level!"
Two-night No Repeat Weekend tickets, as well as single-night tickets, go on general sale at 10am local time on March 6.
Metallica will resume their record-breaking M72 World Tour with shows across Europe and the UK this spring and summer, kicking off on May 9 in Athens, Greece and concluding with two dates at London Stadium on July 3 and 5.
The latest leg of the trek includes No Repeat Weekend dates in Frankfurt, Budapest, Dublin and London, with the band playing two shows per city as on previous legs. It also features One Night Only shows with full production in Athens, Bucharest, Chorzów, Zurich, Berlin, Bologna, Glasgow and Cardiff.
They'll be joined by Gojira and Knocked Loose on most dates, with Pantera and Avatar taking over for the second nights in Frankfurt and Dublin, and the first shows in Budapest and Dublin. Tickets for their spring and summer dates are on sale now.
Metallica are touring behind their latest album, ’72 Seasons', released in 2023. More recently, in March 2025 they put out the live EP 'M72 World Tour: Mexico City'.
