You might recognise The Boy Royals, as until recently they were building a solid reputation under the TOWN moniker.
The Newport based band bring their sound together with a love of iconic British bands, such as The Who and The Jam whilst blending it with the spikier side of britpop. Their attitude and ability to write such anthemic songs has seen the band sharing stages up and down the UK with the likes of Hard-Fi, Lostprophets, Buzzcocks and Ocean Colour Scene.
Under their previous name, The Boy Royals gained support from numerous BBC Radio 1 and 6 music DJ’s, with their single ‘Teenage Sky’. Steve Lamacq chose them as his ‘new favourite band’ whilst Huw Stephens selected their single to be his ‘next hype’, as well as inviting them to play one of his select showcase nights.
