The Saturdays' Frankie Sandford Thanks Fans For Support Through Depression

Frankie Sandford, one fifth of British and Irish girl group The Saturdays, has sent a thank-you message out to fans after she told of her recent battle with depression.

The star has gotten over her illness problems as of now but spent the last year away from the group in order to recover. Speaking to Glamour magazine revealed how depression over took her life, and left her feeling ‘ugly’ and ‘worthless’ – and has thanked fans for their huge amount of support as she got her life back on track.

Writing through the group’s official website, Frankie said: “Opening up and talking about something so personal wasn't easy, but I wanted to set the record straight and share my story in the hope that it will encourage other people suffering from the condition to get help.

“I'm now proud to front the MIND campaign for better mental health. If you or someone you care about is suffering from depression and you would like to get help or advice, then visit the website at www.mind.org.uk/campaigns. For the record, I want you all to know how much your love and support has meant to me. Saturdays fans rock!”

You can hear brand new Saturdays track ’30 Days’ on BBC Radio 1 tomorrow morning.
