Girls Aloud Star Sarah Harding Reportedly Working On Dubstep Track

Girls Aloud star Sarah Harding may be putting her reputation on the line with her next release – as it emerged that she's planning to put out a new dubstep single.

According to reports from The Daily Mirror, Harding wants to try something new with her new material, and is working with producer Paul Smyke – a.k.a Groucho – on a clubby, dubstep-inspired new single.

A source told the paper: “The pair met up at Kensington Park Studios last week and got stuck into working on a new sound for her. She really wants to make people sit up and take notice, with a single that would never have been expected from her. Sarah realises it's time to try something different, so she's having fun experimenting.”

Dubstep has really hit the mainstream music industry in recent times, with many stars – including Britney Spears and Cypress Hill – putting out material inspired by or combined with the relatively new genre of music. But, with dubstep starting off as bass-heavy music you'd only hear in the most underground of clubs, the newer, more mainstream style always creates a divide between hardcore dubstep fans and pop music lovers – one example being Cher Lloyd's track 'Dub on the Track', which was heavily criticised by dubstep pioneer Skream.
