Cheryl Cole On Cher Lloyd: 'She's New And Needs To Learn A Lot'

Geordie star Cheryl Cole has continued her dispute with X-Factor star Cher Lloyd – who she mentored throughout the series in 2010 – and has told GQ Magazine that Lloyd has a 'lot to learn' before she progresses as a musician.

The pair of performers started off as best friends on the show, with Cole helping Lloyd finish fourth in the seventh series of Simon Cowell's singing show the X-Factor, but the two have since fallen out and have made a number of comments about each other in the press. Speaking to GQ, Cole responded to Lloyd's dig that the 'Fight for this Love' singer relied too much on auto-tune by taking her down a notch.

Cole told the magazine: “She's new. She needs to learn a lot. I went through hell to get her on that programme. Everyone says stuff at the beginning of their career that they will learn to regret. It's disappointing because I fought for her. Maybe I didn't teach her as well as I thought I had.”

Lloyd has already apologised for her comments – saying: “I think I really did put my foot in it and now I've realised that what I said was wrong, obviously, and I said sorry” - but it seems that Cole is not in a forgiving mood, and has continued the war of words between them.
