Music Matters Celebrates Robert Johnson's 101st Birthday With Exclusive Animated Video - Watch Now

Yesterday, Robert Johnson, known to many as 'The Grandfather of Rock and Roll' , would have turned 101. To celebrate this, Music Matters have released an exclusive animated video on the legendary bluesman's life and death.
While it may forever be in doubt whether Robert Johnson sold his soul to the devil in exchange for his talent, the musical legacy that he left behind is undoubtable. He influenced an entire generation of Rock and Roll including bands like The Rolling Stones, Fleetwood Mac and Led Zeppelin. Eric Clapton heralded him as "the most important blues singer that ever lived".
While not reaching mainstream success in his own lifetime, in the years following his mysterious poisoning he has been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as an early influence as well as being credited by Rolling Stone's David Fricke as one of the top five greatest guitarists of all time.
