Michael Eavis, promoter and chief of the legendary Glastonbury Festival, has revealed that he asked superstar soul singer Adele to headline the event in 2013 – but she rejected him.
The world-famous festival makes its return in 2013 after taking a break this year, and Eavis is most likely looking to come back with a bang. So, he's looking for the very best headliners to make the event an unforgettable experience – and, being the most successful and huge-selling artists of the past year, Adele is a safe bet. But, it seems performing to to such a huge crowd is a little too daunting for the star, and she said no.
“She knows that we want her anyway, but she doesn't want to do a thing our size,” Eavis told Metro. “Going on the Pyramid Stage is a bit daunting in front of 80,000 people, it's a bit much really.”
He added that although she may not be performing, she'd probably come anyway – saying: “She comes every year usually, and has her own little party.”
Adele is known to be a little shy when it comes to performances, and even recently told NBC hosts that she'd like to stray from the public eye later in her career.NOTE FROM THE EDITOR We don't run any advertising!
