X-Factor star Misha B has thanked those who’ve compared her singing and style to that of Nicki Minaj’s - and revealed that she can’t wait for fans to witness her own style.
The singer finished fourth on the last series of the show and is also one of the most promising to emerge from it, alongside Amelia Lily, Marcus Collins, and winners Little Mix. She’s now signed a deal with Sony, and is working on tracks alongside Missy Elliott and Kelly Rowland - and her next step is to acquire a fanbase who recognise her for her own, unique style.
“You can't run away from comparisons, and being compared to somebody as great as she is, you know, it's only a compliment,” Misha told MTV. “I just can't wait for people to hear my other music and then to be able to say, 'That's Misha B's style'. For me I feel like 'Home Run' is just one chapter of my album, and it's definitely for that genre of music altogether.”
She continued: “I wouldn't like to box the album with any specific genre of music because we've experimented with so many different styles. We've experimented with rock, a bit of indie, a few ballads here and there. But yeah, for me it's just everything in the sense of a free album. Even though it's not physically free, it's freedom of expression.”
Misha’s debut single ‘Home Run’ hits shelves on July 15th, while it’s unknown when her debut album will get a release.
