Original Sugababes Line-Up Officially Reunite As 'Mutya Keisha Siobhan'

The original line-up of the Sugababes have (finally) officially announced their reunion, months after speculation and rumours began spreading across the internet.

The trio of girls - Mutya, Keisha, and Siobhan - will once again perform and record, though they’ll be using the much less catchy moniker of ‘Mutya Keisha Siobhan’ on their second assault on the pop music scene. Launching their brand new website this morning, the girls revealed that there’s an album expected out later this year, and also posted the first official pictures of the girls together.

Hardly able to contain their excitement, Keisha Buchanan tweeted this morning: “Dear tweeters ive been trying my best to keep this one on the DL haha @mutyabuena @siobhandonaghy @mksofficial.”

Siobhan then contributed her own tweet, saying: “It's been killing us to keep it secret any longer! @keisha_buchanan @MutyaBuena,” before Buena confirmed the news that was pretty much expected, saying: “@siobhandonaghy @keisha_buchanan I think we should tell the world. WE'RE BACK!!! @MKSofficial.”

They’ve since held an interview with PopJustice, and have revealed even more about their fresh start.

“The first time we sang in a room together and worked out our harmonies and sang them together was recording a song called 'Too In Love'. It was the first time we'd sang together since we were 16 years old. To be honest with you it wasn't an instant thing. When we were younger we gelled straight away, but we had to learn to blend with each other again.”

They added: “It was so special to be excited about hearing our voices together, and being excited about our music. On my days off I'd go home and I'd listen to the tracks. I'd be like, 'I'm really enjoying this'. I just enjoyed our music.”

And, though they may not be the Sugababes anymore, Keisha is certainly not a Bitterbabe either, and wished her former bandmates - who kicked out of her the new-look Sugababes in 2009 - the best of luck, saying: “I feel like everything has gone full circle and right now I'm exactly where I'm meant to be. And I genuinely wish them the best of luck.”
