Kyle Falconer - frontman of Scottish indie-rockers The View - has revealed that he’s been treated for alcohol poisoning ‘lots of times’, as he drinks to help deal with his ‘debilitating panic attacks’.
The chart-topping outfit have enjoyed much success in the past couple of years, but Falconer has been unable to deal with his persistent panic attacks - something which he self-medicates using alcohol.
“I've been to see doctors, therapists, all sorts, but nothing has helped,” he told The Sunday Times. “If I have a few drinks, there's no bother, but lots of times I've had to be treated for alcohol poisoning.”
He went on to talk about a recent gig in Brighton where he blacked out, and said: “Touring all the time, one day or other you're going to mess up. If we didn't, we wouldn't have an edge as a band.”
Despite his problems, Falconer continues to work with his band, and will finish their current UK tour with two gigs in Ireland later this week, before returning to Manchester in December. If you need tickets, check the dates and details below.
