San Diego metalcore outfit As I Lay Dying have made their brand new album ‘Awakened’ - out today - available to stream online for free.
Following an overwhelming response to their recently debuted new single and video ‘A Greater Foundation’, the band have launched an exclusive, full-album stream for ‘Awakened - their sixth studio record - via Aol Music.
‘Awakened’ has already garnered critical acclaim across the board, with Alternative Press magazine writer Jason Schreurs claiming that ‘Tim Lambesis has never sounded better than on a metal anthem like 'Overcome,' his shattered scream completely ripping faces... Awakened is the best As I Lay Dying album you can point to as metal both modernized and maximized,” in his 4/5 star album review.
Artist Direct’s Rick Florino singled out preview track ‘Cauterized’ as ‘an unshakable anthem, the song is the best kind of aural assault and battery from one of heavy metal's most dynamic outfits.
For ‘Awakened’, the band holed up in the Blasting Room in Fort Collins, CO with renowned rock producer Bill Stevenson (Descendents) and mixer Colin Richardson. It marks the follow-up to last year’s ‘Decas’ EP, which reached #2 on the iTunes Rock Chart, and the group's last LP, 2010's immensely successful ‘The Powerless Rise’,which debuted on the Billboard Top 200 at #10.
