Heavy Metal Band Gamma Ray Announce Release Of Live CD/DVD 'Skeletons & Majesties Live' - Watch Now

Hamburg based rock label earMUSIC announces the live release “Skeletons & Majesties Live” by German heavy metal band, Gamma Ray. The release features the live recording of the band’s performance at the Z7 Venue in Switzerland back in April 2011, and will consist of a 2CD, Blu-ray and DVD selection on the 3rd December this year. The DVD and Blu-Ray will give rise to additional bonus tracks, behind the scene material, rare archive material and interviews with the band.
“Skeletons & Majesties Live” has a playing time of two house and is a tour de force through their history to date, with the inclusion of many top hits and classic favourites alongside tracks undeservedly under-represented. Vocalist, guitarist and founder, Kai Hansen, said; “the EP, Skeletons & Majesties, is practically a continuation of our ‘Skeletons In The Closet’ concept, in other words: new versions of songs which didn’t receive the attention they deserve, as well as unplugged versions of some of our classics”.
The double CD is home to a total of 18 songs whereas the DVD and Blu-ray disks will feature six additional bonus tracks with alternative versions of “The Spirit”, “Wings Of Destiny”, “Farewell”, “Gamma Ray” and “Insurrection”, all of which were recorded as a previous show in Bochum. The DVD and Blu-ray will also show behind the scenes bonus material and band interviews.
Gamma Ray have been their own trademark for metal music since their first release in September 1991 with a world full of hellish surprises, possible one of the reasons fans were not surprised when the band embarked on a club tour through Germany and Switzerland in 2011. Gamma Ray’s fanatics are fully aware that the band are guaranteed to present yet another astonishingly haunting show, with dynamic openers such as “Anywhere In The Galaxy” and the furious finale of “Future World”.
The release of this live EP will mark the beginning of a crazy 2012 for Gamma Ray. Though Hansen focused significantly on his second band Unisonic, he has announced that he is focusing exclusively on Gamma Ray again. With a co-headlining appearance with Helloween scheduled for April 2013 just in time for the arrival of their new studio recording Hansen comments, “Gamma Ray will have top priority in 2012”.
