When news broke that Fleetwood Mac would be touring in 2013 - as well as releasing some new material - fans around the world rejoiced in the knowledge that Nicks and co would be returning to their lives in the near future. Now, Nicks has sent fans’ pulses racing by claiming that next year will be the ‘year of Fleetwood Mac’!
Speaking about their return at the premiere of Twilight: Breaking Dawn part 2, Nicks revealed that the she’d been hard at work in the studio with bandmate Lindsey Buckingham, as well as telling STV that their tour would be a long one, featuring 50 American dates and 15 European.
"I was in the studio with Lindsey [Buckingham] last week for four days and we did record two songs,” Nicks revealed. “We are probably going to throw them out a month before we go [on tour]. We go into rehearsal the 15th of January, for six weeks, so we will probably be on the road by the end of April. 2013 will be the year of Fleetwood Mac.
“I think we are going to go through our catalogue and pull some really neat stuff that we don't usually do on stage. And make this a very different show than the show in 2009, and 2003-2004. We are really going to make an effort to make this really special and something brand new for everybody to see because there are so many songs.”
She added finally: “It will probably be about 50 American shows. We always do 17 shows about in Australia, and we do probably 15 shows in Europe. So it's a big tour, it is a big world tour.”
No official dates have been confirmed yet so if you’re a fan, keep your eyes peeled for some big news in the coming months. Are you excited for the tour?
