After coming together at the end of 2011 Embers played their first gig at 'Sounds from the Other City Festival' for Drowned in Sound in Manchester. They've since gone from strength-to-strength, supporting Halls, The Invisible, DZ Deathrays and landing a slot at Dot-to-Dot festival.
They also self-released an extremely limited edition 7inch earlier in the year, ‘Sins Unknown’ and ‘Tunnel Vision’, the former which named single of the week on John Kennedy’s XFM show and both songs lit up the blogosphere.
Embers draw on the likes of Hans Zimmer, Brian Eno and John Murphy, blended with the more contemporary influences of Arcade Fire, Sigur Ros and Radiohead. The band admit that they “love film music” and it's been an important creative process in their development, with visual projections incorporated into their live show.
New videos 'Hollow Cage' and 'Part of the Echoes' were both filmed and recorded in the beautiful Gorton Monastery, a stunning historical building just outside of Manchester city centre. The two songs were recorded and filmed completely live.
Embers. Definitely ones to keep your eye on in 2013. Head to the the official Embers Facebook page for further information.
