London trio Teleman emerged at the tail end of last year, to reveal their debut track to the web. ‘Cristina’ notched up over 25,000 listens and has been play listed on 6music. Ahead of it’s 7” vinyl release through Moshi Moshi Singles Club this coming Monday January 14th, they have revealed a self-directed video to accompany the track.
Produced by the legendary Bernard Butler, the 7” a-side ‘Cristina’, is a gently propulsive song showcasing lead singer Tom Sanders’ distinctive and bittersweet vocals: “Cristina is so good / She makes me go across town / She makes me want to lie down / There’s nothing in the way now”.
It’s backed by ‘In Your Fur’, a more guitar driven track that escalates in tempo and tension before demonstrating their psychedelic side.
These tracks reveal Teleman’s innate ability for songwriting. The band’s simple, sonorous brew of guitar, drum and synths is not at all unusual, but with it they craft exquisite pop songs that instantly spark your musical curiosity.
