Airbourne Announce Release Of New Album 'Black Dog Barking'

Aussie rockers Airbourne have announced that 'Black Dog Barking', their third album and follow-up to 2010's 'No Guts. No Glory', will be released on 20th May 2013 via Roadrunner.

Drawing on influences from Judas Priest, Thin Lizzy, AC/DC and Motörhead, Airbourne's high energy, working man’s rock ‘n’ roll has been winning over fans since 2003. Having picked up numerous accolades on their way, awards include a 2008 gong from the Metal Hammer Golden Gods. Their first album 'Runnin’ Wild' was named the year’s Best Debut Album.

Following their explosive tours and main stage festival appearances, including a headliner spot at Waken 2011, Rock Am Ring/Park (Germany) and Download (UK), it’s been a long wait for Airbourne and their fans since coming off the road mid-2011 to work on 'Black Dog Barking'.

The band had this to say about the new record: “A lot of thought and effort has gone into this record not only by the band, but by the production crew who worked countless hours, seven days a week, even through Christmas and New Year’s Eve to achieve the best possible performances, backed by real undying tones. Now we’re handing it over to you… so crank it up, crack a beer and stick some rock ‘n’ roll in your ear!”

This spring, Airbourne have a brand new song, 'Live It Up' being utilized for the launch and promotion of the 'Full Throttle' rollercoaster at Six Flags Magic Mountain theme park in California. Full Throttle will be the tallest, fastest-looping rollercoaster in the world.

Airbourne will return to Donington's Download Festival on Sunday 16th June. Click Here to Compare & Buy Download Festival Tickets.

Check back to Stereoboard for the announcement of a brand new Airbourne tour.

Clutch - Book of Bad Decisions (Album Review)
Fri 07 Sep 2018
Despite being poster boys for gritty guitar licks, quirky lyrics and bluesy, boozy funk-rock, Clutch have never achieved the mainstream attention that their self-sustaining march over the years should merit. Even though 2015’s superb ‘Psychic Warfare’ broke them through to an extent, there remains a boatload of charm in the Maryland groovelords’ way of modestly churning out one outstanding record after another. The gloriously titled ‘Book of Bad Decisions’ doesn’t buck that trend.
True Rockers Take Risks: Why Monster Truck Are Set To Explode
Tue 25 Sep 2018
Armed with a bulldozing brand of stoner-infused, bluesy rock ‘n’ roll, Canada’s Monster Truck have steadily established themselves as a must see live act over the last decade. Having battered more and more eardrums into submission at progressively larger venues, particularly as a support act to Deep Purple, Alter Bridge and Black Stone Cherry, arena headlining status has increasingly seemed like it’s theirs for the taking. And if their relentlessly anthemic third album ‘True Rockers’ is anything to go by, heaven help anyone who tries to stop them.
Alice in Chains - Rainier Fog (Album Review)
Thu 06 Sep 2018
Named after an ominous volcano near Seattle, while acting as a tribute to the music scene that shot them to prominence in the early 1990s, ‘Rainier Fog’ is Alice In Chains’ third record since reforming after the death of frontman Layne Staley in 2002. Erupting with flavours old and new, it’s a classy effort that demonstrates exactly what master craftsmanship looks like. So why is it difficult to shake the feeling something’s missing?
