Britpop icons Blur have revealed that they may be recording a new album in Hong Kong this week.
Damon Albarn and co. performed in the AsiaWorld-Expo in Hong Kong last night, and told the crowd that they may try and fit in some new album recording sessions in the next week - as the band’s previously-scheduled gigs in Japan have now been postponed:
Albarn told the crowd:
“Due to unforeseen circumstances, we were not able to go [to Japan] - although we will go there at some point. So, we have a week in Hong Kong, and we thought it would be a good time to try and record another record. We’re gonna try and make one here in Hong Kong!”
A new Blur album has been a mystery amongst fans and press alike since they made their return in 2008, with certain band-members denying a new record, and others strongly hinting at one. They’ve already released a couple of new tracks - how would you rate the chances of a new album this year? Leave us a comment in the box below.
