Taffy Unveil Cover Of The Cure's 'Boys Don't Cry' In New Video - Watch Now

Friday, 31 May 2013 Written by Elliott Batte

Japanese four-piece Taffy have unveiled their cover of The Cure’s ‘Boys Don’t Cry’ in a new brand new video.

The acclaimed band return with their video of a cover of Cure classic 'Boys Don't Cry', taken off their new double A single 'Tumbling/ Boys Don't Cry', out this week. Taffy's new album 'Lixiviate'  is released on 17th June through Club AC30.

Their cover is a remorseful and progressively heavy track that further exemplifies their talent and trademark sound, while it’s flipside ‘Tumbling’ opens with a classic indie intro that is quickly filled with distortion, heavy guitar riffs and playful pop vocals. The catchy, charismatic track is a mashup of intoxicating bubblegum pop, shoegaze and psych.

Known for their upbeat and energetic live shows, last year saw their first UK tour. Taffy have already headlined Madame JoJo’s ‘White Heat’ and are fast becoming a favourite on the indie scene. Other performances include a headline slot at the Play Time festival in Mongolia and a plethora of sell-out gigs in Tokyo - and they’ve lined-up even more UK tour dates for July. If you’re a fan, check the dates and links below the video to find tickets through Stereoboard.
