Swedish house DJ and producer Avicii has released the fastest-selling single of 2013 so far, Wake Me Up.
Selling 267,000 copies in its first week, Wake Me Up topped the UK singles chart, racking up the biggest first-week sales since the Justice Collective's ‘He Ain't Heavy’ back in late 2012. It sold about 76,000 copies more than the previous 2013 title holder - Robin Thicke's Blurred Lines.
It’s Avicii’s second UK #1 of the year, having scored his first ever British chart-topper with I Could Be the One back in February, a track that’s now gone 2x platinum. With debut record ‘True’ set to hit shelves later this year, Avicii’s got a load of stunning new material that you can hear live in the UK and Ireland this summer.
