Arcade Fire Reveal New Record 'Reflektor' is a Double Album - World Tour Will Follow

Tuesday, 10 September 2013 Written by Elliott Batte

Canadian indie-rockers Arcade Fire have revealed to fans that their hugely-anticipated new record ‘Reflektor’ is a double album.

The band have been teasing their fans with a massive promotion campaign behind the new record, with yesterday acting as the culmination of their 9/9/9 trend which was plastered across posters and in graffiti in cities across the globe.

The album is set for a release on October 29, and the band have now confirmed that fans will be treated to not one but two LPs for their latest project - and everyone who pre-orders it will have special first access to buy tickets for their up and coming world tour in support of it.

Meanwhile, the band have unleashed the title track and lead single from the record Reflektor, which features the one and only David Bowie supplying backing vocals. You can check out a brand new video for the track embedded below, while an interactive version is available here.

Arcade Fire launched the track with a surprise performance in their hometown of Montreal, Quebec last night, playing to just 100 people in the tiny Salsatheque venue having been billed as The Reflektors. Keeping with their 9/9/9 theme, tickets cost $9 and the show kicked off at 9pm - while fans were asked to dress in either formal attire of fancy dress.

The track was also sold at independent record stores as a limited vinyl release - you can check out the record’s artwork on the right.

Are you a fan of Arcade Fire? You haven’t got too long until the album drops, so for now, check out the new single below - and keep your eyes peeled for the dates to their up and coming world tour!
