Ed Sheeran Working With Superstar Pharrell Williams

Thursday, 19 September 2013 Written by Elliott Batte

Ed Sheeran has confirmed that he’s working with hip-hop and soul superstar Pharrell Williams.

Sheeran is working on what will be his second studio album, the follow-up to the chart-topping, platinum-selling ‘+’, and has enlisted the help of a handful of collaborators to make sure his sophomore helping is just as successful.

We already know that he’s working with American rapper The Game on a track, while he’s also been in the studio with drum and bass/EDM quartet Rudimental, who themselves have enjoyed a successful 2013.

Now, he’s taken to Twitter to tell of his work with Pharrell.

Pharrell has recently worked with the likes of Daft Punk (he supplied vocals for Lose Yourself to Dance and smash-hit Get Lucky), Robin Thicke’s #1 single Blurred Lines and Azealia Banks’ up and coming ATM Jam, and is also rumoured to be working with One Direction too.

Williams recently told The Mirror that they had been talking.

“We are definitely talking. From what I've heard of their new stuff I'm pleasantly surprised. Their new stuff is definitely a progression and an elevation. I will hopefully be getting involved as we are definitely in talks.

“I don't think some people realise how hard those boys work. There is so much more that goes into One Direction than just the band. They are a brand and are huge. They are incredibly hard-working. I'm sure it will excite our female fans if we're on a record together.”
