Lady Gaga X Factor Performance Generates 260 Complaints

Lady Gaga is known for controversial performances and her recent X Factor appearance proved to be no different - clocking up 260 complaints from the public.
BBC Newsbeat reports that many viewers were unhappy with the flesh-toned underwear she wore on the show, which took place before the 9pm watershed. In total, watchdog Ofcom have reported that they received a total of 200 complaints, while another 60 were sent directly to ITV.
An Ofcom spokesperson has claimed that they will ‘assess all the complaints received on this issue before deciding whether to investigate’, while an ITV spokesperson has also commented - saying:
“We do not believe Lady Gaga's performance was inappropriate for the family audience of the X Factor Results show, which has an established tradition of featuring performances from the biggest music stars. Lady Gaga is well known for her highly individual performance style.”
Lady Gaga performed Venus and Do What U Want on the show, two of a number of tracks from her forthcoming album, 'ARTPOP', to have been revealed in recent weeks. The record, her fourth, is out on November 11.
