Sisters Of Mercy Announce Sonisphere Warm Up Shows

Sisters Of Mercy will warm up for their Sonisphere UK performance with three shows at Glasgow's O2 ABC, Belfast's Mandela Hall and Dublin's Vicar Street.

Frontman Andrew Eldritch will bring the Sisters to Knebworth on July 5, following a string of May dates across mainland Europe. Speaking about the festival appearance, the band said:

“We had such a good time playing Sonisphere in 2011 (for the Sisters’ first UK festival in 20 years) that we’re coming back, to celebrate 40 years of gigs at Knebworth. Christ, that’s even older than us. We’re looking forward to seeing you all (even though you might not see us).”

The festival, which will celebrate 40 years of shows at Knebworth, will be headlined by Iron Maiden, Metallica and the Prodigy, with Alice In Chains, Slayer, Mastodon, Airbourne, Limp Bizkit, Anthrax, Dropkick Murphys, Devin Townsend, Ghost and more also confirmed.
