Summer Series at Somerset House will return this year from July 10 to 20, playing host once again to a typically eclectic and impressive array of headline artists alongside hotly tipped acts.
Opening on the first night will be London-based trio Daughter, while Dublin-quartet Kodaline will continue proceedings with their powerful blend of emotive rock. Taking to the stage on the third evening of Summer Series is angelic Danish singer/songwriter Agnes Obel, followed by Australian collective The Cat Empire on July 13, who touch down for their Summer Series debut. The Summer Series welcomes Kelis to the courtyard stage the following evening.
Biggest-selling new British act of 2013, Bastille, arrive for an intimate show in their home city on July 15, with Glaswegian rockers Franz Ferdinand headlining the evening’s events the following night. Scottish synthpop trio Chvrches continue the Summer Series’ proceedings on July 17 and singer songwriter of the moment Sam Smith will join the line-up on July 18. Next up, hotly tipped chart-toppers Clean Bandit headline on July 19. Headlining the grand finale of the 2014 Summer Series will be electro R&B adventurers Little Dragon.
Somerset House has established itself as a much-loved destination for live music in London. In previous years, sell out crowds have seen performances from Adele, Amy Winehouse, Basement Jaxx, Bloc Party, Calvin Harris, Charlotte Gainsbourg, Corinne Bailey Rae, Doves, Elbow, Ellie Goulding, Erykah Badu, Florence + The Machine, Goldfrapp, Grace Jones, Hot Chip, Jill Scott, Justice, Kasabian, Lianne La Havas, Lily Allen, Of Monsters and Men, Orbital, Paloma Faith, PJ Harvey, Professor Green, Robert Plant, Sigur Ros, The Prodigy and The xx, among others.
