Culture Club Cancel US And UK Reunion Tours

Thursday, 13 November 2014 Written by Jon Stickler

Culture Club have been forced to cancel their upcoming US and UK reunion tours because singer Boy George has fallen ill from a throat condition.

Uniting for the first time in over 15 years, the 1980s pop icons were due to begin a 10-date trek, their first tour in 12 years, on Saturday in California, before heading to the UK for 11 shows in December. The tour has now been scrapped as Boy George has found a polyp on his throat, which may need to be removed with surgery.

The singer said:

"I want to be able to perform to the best of my ability and the specialist has told me that right now that will be impossible."

The band added:

"We are hoping we can reschedule the concerts for next year, and hopefully George's problem will be resolved."

Ticket holders can claim refunds from their point of purchase.
