Blur will play an intimate show at Wolverhampton’s Newhampton Arts Centre on June 6.
The band, who recently returned with ‘The Magic Whip’, will also play Glasgow’s Barrowland, Blackpool’s Empress Ballroom and Llandudno’s Cymru Arena next month in the build up to a British Summer Time Show at Hyde Park and a headline set at the Isle of Wight festival.
All proceeds will go to Newhampton Arts Centre and RML Ltd following funding cuts, with a strict limit of two tickets per person. Native Monster reports that the show has been organised by Blur crew member Stuart Lowbridge. Tickets are available to Blur fan club subscribers and members of a local club night called The Social. Lowbridge told the site:
“There is no better place. It is a no brainer really as I have a long history with the Newhampton Arts Centre and RMl Music, working at both places over the past 25 years between tours.
“Tim Hubball, RML director, gave me my first real taste of a live stage in around 89 when I was employed by his band The Soul Survivors.”
