The Staves will release 'Sleeping In A Car' later this month.
The EP is set to arrive on May 13 through Nonesuch Records and follow up the sibling trio's sophomore album, 'If I Was', which came out in March last year. Discussing it, the band said:
“These songs reflect the transient nature of travelling. Fleeting moments, like a slide show—reflections in car windows, streetlights passing in rhythm, stolen phone calls, late nights. Feelings of displacement and a disconnect— living in some sort of alternate state of reality. But underneath it all is the feeling of adventure and making your own rules and how dizzying and freeing that can be.”
The release arrives ahead of their summer North American tour, during which they will return to the UK for Guy Garvey’s Meltdown Festival at the Royal Festival Hall on June 14.
