Glastonbury Organisers Confirm Fallow Year In 2018

Tuesday, 13 September 2016 Written by Huw Baines

Glastonbury organisers have confirmed that the festival will take a fallow year in 2018.

The news ends speculation that the event might move to a new site temporarily in order to allow Worthy Farm and the surrounding area to recover from the rigours of hosting it. The festival’s last fallow year was 2012.

“We can confirm that we will be taking our next fallow year in 2018, in order to give the farm, the village and the Festival team the traditional year off,” the statement read. “There are no plans to hold an event at another location in 2018.”

In related news, tickets for the 2017 edition of Glastonbury, which will land between June 21 and 25, are set to go on sale at 9am on October 9. Coach and ticket packages, meanwhile, will be available on October 6 at 6pm.
