British Sea Power have posted a video for their new single, Bad Bohemian.
The song is lifted from their new album, 'Let The Dancers Inherit The Party', which is due for release on March 31. It will follow up 2015's 'Sea of Brass' and 2013's 'Machineries of Joy'.
Discussing the clip, singer/guitarist Yan Wilkinson, who conceived, directed and edited it, said:
"I wanted the video to capture the feeling in between the real world and the virtual world; the way that it’s kind of fun but at the same time exhausting trying to keep up with the speed of everything. The way you can go from watching an entertaining Korean performer working with imaginary objects to live footage of war torn countries then sink into a world of cute animals before trying and digest global politics, all within a few clicks. It’s a confusing world I guess. I've been thinking a lot recently about how the artist Kurt Schwitters used things like bus tickets in his collage. To me adding a video of a kitten equates with him putting an everyday object like a bus ticket in a work of art was back in his day - how an everyday thing is capable of expressing something deeper whilst still being an everyday thing. I think the song has more going on below the surface than is at first obvious. I wanted the video to reflect that."
The indie troupe will follow up the record's release with a UK tour, calling in Bristol, Leeds, Newcastle, Edinburgh, Manchester, London and Birmingham between April 6 and 13. Tickets are on sale now, with prices ranging between £16.00 and £19.50 plus fees.
The band have also recently been confirmed for Focus Wales in Wrexham this May.
