Field Music Announce New Album 'Open Here', Line Up Newcastle Shows With Open Here Orchestra

Tuesday, 07 November 2017 Written by Laura Johnson

Field Music will release a new album early next year.

'Open Here', the follow up to last year's 'Commontime', is due out on February 2 via Memphis Industries. Discussing it, David Brewis, one half of the sibling duo, said:

“Where Commontime felt like a distillation of all of the elements that make up Field Music, this feels like an expansion; as if we’re pushing in every direction at once to see how far we can go.”

The Sunderland brothers will support the record's release with three shows in Newcastle, two evening and one matinee, on February 2 and 3. They will perform with strings, horns, woodwind and assorted percussion provided by the Open Here Orchestra. Tickets go on general sale at 9am on November 9.

The same set up will be used for the closing date of their previously announced spring UK tour, which will take place at the Barbican in London on March 25.

Meanwhile, check out the album's artwork and trailer below.
