Rodes Rollins has released a new track.
Boom Pow is the US-based singer-songwriter's first new offering since the release of Nasty Woman earlier this year, and both tracks feature Kane Ritchotte of Portugal, The Man on drums. Rollins' debut EP, 'Young Adult', meanwhile, arrived in 2017.
The new song sees her put a different spin on her Americana sound, utilising tribal beats to add to an untypically ethereal backdrop. She said:
"Boom Pow is a song inspired by a wide array of influences from Tinariwen to Jane Birkin. I write Americana inspired music and felt compelled to explore the different influences of the Americana genre by showcasing West African-tinged percussion and rhythms. I'm excited to showcase a different side of my sound with this song. I really feel like I'm covering different territory with this one."
Rollins will play a free show on the Elsewhere rooftop in Brooklyn, New York on August 8. Head here for further details.
