Lana Del Rey has released a new single.
Hope is a dangerous thing for a woman like me to have - but i have it is the third collaboration with producer Jack Antonoff to come from the singer in recent months, after Mariners Apartment Complex and Venice Bitch dropped in September. The previous two tracks were expected to appear on her new album due to Antonoff’s involvement, but Del Rey has recently confirmed the first track from ‘Norman Fucking Rockwell’ will actually arrive soon.
The new single sees Del Rey more stripped back than her usual soft-pop style, showcasing her emotion with a simple vocal melody and only a piano for accompaniment. With the lyrics “24/7 Sylvia Plath… they write that I’m happy, they know that I’m not” it is suitably melancholic, a theme listeners have begun to expect and relish.
Del Rey’s sixth LP is due for a mid-2019 release, and will be her first since 2017’s Grammy-nominated ‘Lust For Life’, which debuted at No.1 in the UK.
