Madonna Cancels First Night Of London Residency On Madame X Tour

Madonna cancelled the first night of her London residency.
The legendary performer was due to kick off the UK leg of her Madame X Tour last night (January 27) at the Palladium, but pulled the performance due to injury. Her statement advises that the January 29 show will go ahead as scheduled:
"« I am deeply sorry that I have to cancel my concert scheduled for Monday January 27th in London. Under doctors guidance I have been told to rest for a few days.
As you all know, I have injuries that have plagued me since the beginning of the tour but I must always listen to my body and put my health first.
The last thing I want to do is disappoint my fans or compromise the integrity of my show.
So I will keep going until I cannot.
As always- anyone who purchased a ticket will be refunded for tickets purchased that evening.
The show on Wednesday January 29th will go as scheduled.
Again I am deeply sorry to disappoint anyone and please know that it hurts me more than you can imagine to have to cancel any shows.

The London residency was originally due to begin on January 26, but that date was rescheduled due to production delays. During this tour, Madonna has also previously postponed shows in New York and Boston on doctor's orders.
The trek, which shares its name with her 2019 album, will finish up at the London Palladium on February 16 and head to Paris on February 18 to begin a residency at Le Grand Rex that will run until March 8.
