Gregory Porter Joins Disney For Christmas Campaign Ahead Of 'Still Rising' Release

Gregory Porter has lent his voice to Disney's new charity single for their new Christmas campaign.
The festive commercial—titled The Stepdad—features the song Love Runs Deeper, penned by Los Angeles-based songwriters PARKWILD and performed by the two-time Grammy Award-winning jazz, blues and soul artist with singer Cherise.
The three-minute ad arrives as a sequel to the company's 2020 short film, Lola, and tells a heartwarming story of a stepfather experiencing his first festive season with his partner and her children. Take a look below.
For every download of the track before December 31, proceeds from the retail price will be donated to Make-A-Wish International. Commenting on the song, Porter said:
"The lyrics of the track are so powerful, and underline that behind everything there is love. When I read the first line of Love Runs Deeper, 'When you open the door, I will be standing there', I was truly moved by its emotion and storytelling. I knew I needed to be involved with this campaign and support Make-A-Wish."
Porter will release his new double album, 'Still Rising', this Friday (November 5). The expansive, 34-track collection features new songs, covers, duets and fan favourites from his career. It follows his 2020 sixth studio LP, 'All Rise'.
He'll return to the UK for rescheduled UK arena shows in May. Original tickets remain valid.
