The self-empowering track serves as a fresh start for the Ohio metalcore band, with main songwriter Caleb Shomo leading the group away from mental health and self-acceptance themes that much of Beartooth's previous material has centred around.
Anchored by an energetic, bouncy groove and catchy hook, with equal parts pop sensibilities and fiery aggression, it arrives with an equally inspiring video. Shomo said:
"Riptide is about trying to start a new chapter in life and trying to stop focusing on all of the negative things that have been surrounding my life for quite some time and me focusing on being healthier, happier, and having a better time with my life."
Beartooth will embark on a North American tour later in July when supporting A Day To Remember, Bad Omens and The Ghost Inside. They're also due to tour Europe and the UK in spring 2023.
They released their fourth studio album, 'Below', in 2021.
