Adwaith have won the Welsh Music Prize for 'Bato Mato'.
The trio saw off competition from Art School Girlfriend, Bryde, Breichiau Hir, Buzzard Buzzard Buzzard, Cate Le Bon, Carwyn Ellis and Rio 18 with the BBC National Orchestra Of Wales, Dead Method, Danielle Lewis, Don Leisure, Gwenno, Lemfreck, Manic Street Preachers, Papur Wal and Sywel Nyw to succeed last year's winner, Kelly Lee Owens.
It's the second time the band have won the Welsh Music Prize, the first time being in 2019 for their debut album, 'Melyn'.
Returning for its 12th year with a shortlist of 15 albums, the award recognises the best in creativity from the burgeoning Welsh music scene, as well as music made by Welsh people around the world.
The winner was announced during a ceremony at Wales Millennium Centre in Cardiff this evening (October 26). For the first time, the event took place with a live public audience as part of Llais (formerly known as the Festival Of Voice), an annual international arts festival held in the Welsh capital.
Mike Peters received the Welsh Music Inspiration Award, while Aderyn, Sage Todz and Minas Sound took home the Triskel Award, which celebrates and supports three emerging artists that offer a bright future for music in Wales.
