Frank Ocean has pulled out of Coachella's second weekend, with Blink-182 reportedly set to take his place as main stage headliners.

Ocean allegedly injured his ankle on the festival grounds leading up to his show during the festival's first weekend, causing some last-minute production changes that resulted in a polarising set. It appears things were much more serious than initially thought, with a representative for the singer releasing a statement to Variety:

"Frank Ocean will not be performing at weekend 2 of Coachella. After suffering an injury to his leg on festival grounds in the week leading up to weekend 1. Frank Ocean was unable to perform the intended show but was still intent on performing, and in 72 hours, the show was reworked out of necessity."

"On doctor’s advice, Frank is not able to perform weekend 2 due to two fractures and a sprain in his left leg," the statement continued.

Ocean personally noted: "It was chaotic. There is some beauty in chaos. It isn’t what I intended to show but I did enjoy being out there and I’ll see you soon — Frank Ocean."

After performing a surprise set during the first weekend of the event, the pop-punk giants look set to replace Ocean as the headliner on April 23. Currently, neither Coachella organisers nor Blink-182 have commented on the situation.

Blink-182 have a huge world tour scheduled for 2023 and 2024. The trek will hit the UK and Europe this autumn, following a North American leg during the spring and summer. They also have Australian and New Zealand dates in the diary for February 2024.

UPDATE 21/04: Both camps have now confirmed the news.
