Keane To Celebrate 20th Anniversary Of Debut Album With Spring UK and Ireland Arena Tour

Keane have announced a UK and Ireland tour for spring 2024.
The Sussex-based band have lined up shows at Leeds' First Direct Arena, Birmingham's Utilita Arena, Co-op Live in Manchester, Bournemouth International Centre, Cardiff's Utilita Arena, The O2 in London and Dublin's 3Arena between May 3 and 13.
The tour will celebrate the 20th anniversary of their debut album, 'Hopes and Fears', which reached number one on the UK Official Albums Chart back in 2004. Lead singer Tom Chaplin said:
“I remember standing by that amazing old mixing desk at Heliocentric Studios where we made Hopes and Fears, listening to an early mix of Somewhere Only We Know. I had this feeling that we’d come up with something that had an extra bit of magic. Making music is so often a process full of doubt…but on this occasion there was something undeniable about what we’d created. Clearly a lot of people felt the same when the album came out!”
Founding member and songwriter Tim Rice-Oxley added:
“When I think about these songs, I still picture us playing them in little rooms in pubs around the UK. I remember how exciting it was watching the crowds start to grow. Those songs opened the door to another dimension for us; everything that has happened in our lives since then was born out of that moment. It’s an incredible privilege for us that people are still listening after all this time.”
Support on the tour will come from The Lathums for all their UK dates and The Sherlocks for Dublin only. Tickets go on general sale at 10am on September 15.
Keane's anniversary celebrations will also see them play shows in Mexico City, Guadalajara, Amsterdam, Cologne, Brussels and Paris in April, then head to North America in September for a tour that includes stops at New York's Radio City Music Hall and The Greek Theatre in Los Angeles.
