Professor Brian Cox, is a physicist and broadcaster, and former keyboard player in pop band D:Ream.
He currently serves as professor of particle physics in the School of Physics and Astronomy at the University of Manchester, and works at the highly-publicised Large Hadron Collider, as well as presenting BBC Radio Show The Infinite Monkey Cage with stand-up comedian and writer Robin Ince.
He is well known for also presenting television shows on the BBC and a range of science programmes, especially the 'Wonders of...' series. His science books Why Does E=mc²? and The Quantum Universe have proven popular, yet academically he's been the author or co-author of over 950 scientific publications, including his own Doctorate Thesis, which was entitled Double Diffraction Dissociation at Large Momentum Transfer.
