Professor Brian Cox is a physicist and broadcaster from Lancashire.
He currently serves as professor of particle physics in the School of Physics and Astronomy at the University of Manchester, and works at the highly-publicised Large Hadron Collider, as well as presenting BBC Radio Show The Infinite Monkey Cage with stand-up comedian and writer Robin Ince. His science books Why Does E=mc²? and The Quantum Universe were a huge success, and academically he has been the author or co-author of over 950 scientific publications, including his own Doctorate Thesis, which was entitled Double Diffraction Dissociation at Large Momentum Transfer. He is also the former keyboard player for the pop band D:Ream!
