Pantera Plot Summer North American Dates With Amon Amarth For The Heaviest Tour Of The Summer

Pantera have announced The Heaviest Tour Of The Summer.

The metal heavyweights have scheduled 29 shows across North America, kicking off on July 15 in Burgettstown, Pennsylvania and wrapping up on September 13 in West Palm Beach, Florida.

They'll be joined on the amphitheatre trek by Swedish kings of Viking metal Amon Amarth, with an opening act for the shows still to be announced. Tickets go on general sale at 10am local time on Friday (February 28).

The shows will follow Pantera's run of spring North American stadium dates with Metallica and Suicidal Tendencies. They'll also appear at Black Sabbath's and Ozzy Osbourne's final show in Birmingham, England on July 5, alongside Metallica, Slayer, Gojira, Halestorm, Alice In Chains, Lamb Of God, Anthrax, Mastodon, and more. Tickets for those dates are on sale now.

Pantera will wrap up the UK leg of their first tour in over 20 years with a show at London's OVO Arena Wembley tomorrow night (February 25). They released their last studio album, 'Reinventing The Steel’, back in 2000, with a 20th anniversary edition arriving in 2020.

Pantera currently comprises original members vocalist Philip H. Anselmo and bassist Rex Brown, alongside guitarist Zakk Wylde and drummer Charlie Benante, who fill in the positions held by the late founding Abbott brothers Dimebag Darrell and Vinnie Paul.
