Black Sabbath are a heavy metal band from Birmingham.
Formed in 1968 by guitarist Tony Iommi, drummer Bill Ward, bassist Geezer Butler and vocalist Ozzy Osbourne, the band released their debut self-titled album in 1970, followed by their genre-defining, chart-topping LP ‘Paranoid’, later that same year. Releasing eight albums with Ozzy in their early career before his 1979 departure, several vocalists stepped into the role before Osbourne returned in 2011, serving as frontman until their split in 2017. They've now put out a total of 19 LPs to date, with the latest being '13' in 2013. In February 2025, the band announced the original line-up would return for a final hometown show in Birmingham, in aid of various Parkinson's Disease and childrens' charities. Black Sabbath will take over Villa Park for one final time in July 2025, with special guests Metallia, Slayer, Pantera, Gojira, Alice In Chains and much more.
